Biography

Émilie Gleason was born in Mexico in 1992 and studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, where she created Ted, drôle de coco, a graphic novel depicting the everyday life of her brother, who is on the autism spectrum and is considered high-functioning (Atrabile, 2018).

Widely acclaimed by critics, the book earned her the Prix Révélation (Best Newcomer Award) at the 2019 Angoulême International Comics Festival.

Since then, she has published around ten books, including Junk Food (with Arthur Croque, published by Casterman in 2023) and Robbie (with Olivier Bruneau, published by Virages graphiques in 2023).
